Breakfast for bush rats

Another perfect morning, even better than yesterday. Harley and I went out for the pots, you never know we might end up with crab for breakfast.  Disappointment again, although we got three muddies in one pot they were all to small. We caught a small sand crab who was too small and we weren’t targeting sandies anyway.

The consolation prize is bacon and egg roll cooked by Harley, unfortunately a bush rat had decided to dine with us  last night. The bush rat had eaten its way into the tent, yes the tent. A bush rat sized gnawed hole in the tent, the shopping bag and the bread bag was evidence, It hadn’t taken much, we could have shared, but the hole had now let the ants in as well. So it was Bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast instead.

We have to leave the site by 10am, and so the day becomes a steady job of work breaking down the camp and packing the gear for the run home. We were back at our home by just after midday, it is always sad to say goodbye to a great fishing weekend. It was great regardless of the lack of keepers we got.
