Up late and with a couple of coffees to get us started for the day, we left the Barcoo Hotel in Blackall.  Back on the road south, we headed ever closer to home.

We decided to stop at another pub, this time it was the Morven Hotel in Morven. The Morven Hotel wasn’t in our book, but after a wonderful half an hour chatting to the publican, we believed it should have been. Only a publican for nine months, this ex-Sunshine Coast guy had taken the turnover from $5000 a week to $11000 a week. His  was almost always booked out. If he was as friendly and honest with the rest of his patrons as he was with us, then it was easy to see why.

Morven done,  we now we’re heading directly east along the Warrago Highway with only a 700 kilometre run before reaching home.

Our focus on getting home after such a long drive, the intention now to complete this in two hops, stopping at Chinchilla on our way through.

This road trip has been  an absolute highlight and we both can’t wait to do something similar again.
