We decided not to stay the full distance in the Innes National Park. The weather was far too hot and dry and our camping conditions were far from ideal. We decided we needed a place with a little more sophistication and luxury, so we packed up and drove to the Barossa Valley. It was the right day to leave for this for this long drive to the Barossa Valley as the temps topped 42 degrees.
[singlepic id=82 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=right] We selected the Tanunda Caravan & Tourist Park, which is a large commercial ground in Tanuda Barossa Valley, I tried to get an air-conditioned site van, however they were none left, and so were back to our tent as usual.The Barossa Valley is a major grape growing district in South Australia and produces some of Australia’s finest wines. The major town in the valley is Tanuda, although there are a number of other small towns.
From these campgrounds we took a tour around the wineries and did the usual things one does in this wonderful part of the world and then made a mad dash home to Canberra, doing the nearly 1200 kilometres in one day.
